| Incentives – Do They Make a Difference? |
5/4/07 |
This will be a short and sweet blog this week as I really want to hear from all of you on this subject. I am curious to hear your views on the use of incentives as part of your fleet safety program.
Do you feel that incentives make a difference? Do you think they help change the behavior of the person driving, or do they just get lost in the million other things that sales people have on their minds day in and day out?
I happen to be a believer in incentives, but the incentive program has to make sense. First and foremost, I believe there needs to be both positive and negative aspects to an incentive program and the incentives have to be of enough value to actually generate a desired outcome.
And here is a little expert tip. If your incentive program is based purely on accidents, it is not going to work? Want to know why? Send me a message and I will share my experience with you and hopefully stop you from throwing more money out the window.
So, what type of incentive programs do you have in place at your organization and do you think they make a difference?
